In September 2017, Westminster City Council granted planning consent for the redevelopment of 30 Grosvenor Square, the former Embassy of the United States of America, to provide a high-quality hotel, with new retail units and public realm improvements.

To view proposals as displayed to the public during the planning application, click here.

Qatari Diar have now secured vacant possession of the building and have appointed Careys Civil Engineering to undertake the construction work. The current proposal is to commence work this spring.

The sensitive management of this site is very important to Qatari Diar, and the site will be signed up to Westminster City Council’s Code of Construction Practice (CoCP), which provides guidance on best practice in construction site management. WCC’s CoCP is available to view online at westminster.gov.uk/code-construction-practice.

We have also established a forum to update our neighbours on the proposed works, and manage a hotline to respond to any questions or comments you may have.

This forum will provide you with the opportunity to ask any questions you may have or raise any concerns and will also provide you with information on future activities, the programme and any potential impact.
